SPEAKER: Carol Rostucher, Angels in Motion founder:
As you all know from our Interact Students, they have been working with Angels in Motion (AIM) to provide Blessing Bags  and sleeping mats for the homeless. AIM started with one woman's efforts to rescue her son from addiction. While combing the streets of Kensington in Philadelphia for her son she witnessed many others who were lost and suffering as well. She opened her heart to the streets. She provided "Blessing Bags" which contained food, snacks, clothing, hygiene products and a list of resources to those she met. AIM was formed in Feb 2015 after an article in the Philadelphia Daily News highlighted her efforts and her son's struggles. On a weekly basis, volunteers walk the streets delivering Blessing Bags and talking to the homeless. They help get people treatment, insurance, ID cards, food as well as helping them to get their GED and reenter society. Carol's vision has always been to destigmatize the disease of addiction and spread love, understanding, and compassion to those suffering from the disease of addiction. Thank you Carol!
