This morning we welcomed Rotarian Nancy Venner to the club to share information about A STEP UP ACADEMY.   A school for  Children with Autism..no matter where on the spectrum . They do accept other students who may have other health impairments such as ADHD ,speech impairments. emotional disturbance among other conditions.  It is an integrative educational program for those with Autism. It is a school for Children, and young adults on the autism spectrtum in preschool through 12th grade. The school was founded by Karen Misher in 2013 with 2 students (her children). The Academy prepares the students to become engaged in society through programs such as academic; social; emotional and behavioral programs. The vision is to prepare the students for the world and the world for the students. The staff cares about their students. their mission is to help the child/young adult feel safe, loved and educated.
